Autumn has arrived and the countryside is looking good after a recent shower. It is a good time to visit Dorset as there are plenty of places to visit, a lovely sandy beach and stunning views when walking along the World Heritage Jurassic coast.
Our next available week is 10th November
There are many festivals held around Weymouth harbour and the area throughout the year. There are plenty of activities and gardens to visit as well as several RSPB reserves, two in Weymouth, one on Portland and a little further, near Poole, at Arne.
Always an interesting few hours can be spent looking around, and perhaps buying, at the local weekly markets and monthly farmers markets in the area.
The Dorset coast has been caught on camera again, as the film “On Chesil Beach” from the book by Ian McEwan has now been released. The final series of “Broadchurch” which shows the famous cliffs at West Bay was shown last spring. Some of the celebrated film Dunkirk was shot around Weymouth harbour and filming has also taken place of “Mary Anning” the famous fossil hunter at Lyme Regis.
Fossil hunting is a popular activity along the Jurassic coast but do be careful because of sudden land slips.
Always check the availability list for full details of vacancies. Short breaks, minimum 3 nights, available through the winter months.
