Stonebank, a Grade 2 listed building, previously Bank Farm, dates from the early 1600s. Situated in the village of Chickerell, it is set back from the road in the centre of pleasant gardens, three miles west of Weymouth and one mile from the Dorset coastal path which skirts the Fleet, the narrow lagoon, between Chesil Beach and the mainland.
